As we wrap up Halloween and roll into November full throttle, we are reminded to give thanks and consider how fortunate some of us are. With Thanksgiving and Black Friday approaching we have enough to worry about, why not relieve the stress of shaving?
AWB is challenging all its followers; yes, men and women, to participant in “No Shave November”. “NO Shave November” is a non-profit organization devoted to growing cancer awareness and raising funds to support cancer prevention, research, and education. The digital magazine, the Jambar, provided a little history on how No Shave November came to be:
A few young men in Melbourne, Australia, coined the term in 1999. Then, in 2004, the Movember Foundation was founded; it’s a way for men to grow out their moustaches throughout November — and raise money for men’s health awareness at the same time.

Since then men all over the world have participated in this phenomenon and refrained from touching that razor to let their beards fly, unless your genetics say otherwise then rocking that peach-fuzz is okay too. To participate in this 30-day journey all you need is diligence and a fresh face. The money spent on razors or a trip to the salon could easily be saved and donated to a cancer charity, whether it be for prostate, testicular, or any other cancer of one’s choice, could make a difference in the month of November alone. No-Shave.org provides more information on how to get started, the concept of this hairy journey, and how to get more involved, so check out www.no-shave.org for more information and how you can participate or support someone participating in this year’s festivities.
